Privacy notice

The short version: this is a brochure site with a contact form. We don't run accounts, tracking or marketing lists, and we don't build a profile of you. When you get in touch, your message reaches us as an email — we read it, reply, and that's it.

Who we are

The data controller for this site is Meladian Ltd (trading as Meladian Consulting), a company registered in Scotland under number SC886395, with its registered office at Clyde Offices, Second Floor, 48 West George Street, Glasgow G2 1BP. What we collect

Only what you choose to send us. If you use the contact form — or email us directly — we receive:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your organisation, if you give it (this is optional);
• whatever you write in your message.

We don't ask for anything else, and we'd encourage you not to include sensitive details or confidential information in a first message. The form submits straight to our inbox — there is no account to create, and no database of enquiries behind this site.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your details for one thing: to read your enquiry and reply to it. We do not use them for marketing, and we won't add you to any mailing list.

Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is our legitimate interests — responding to people who contact us and running our consultancy. Where your message is asking us to quote for or begin a piece of work, we also rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing. Your enquiry is handled by the email and hosting providers that run this site and our inbox, acting as our processors and only on our instructions. Beyond that, we only disclose information if the law requires it.

Where your data is held

Your enquiry is stored as email in our inbox, within the UK or European Economic Area. If a provider ever processes it outside that area, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK's international data transfer agreement or addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep your message only as long as it's useful. If we're in an active conversation or working together, we keep the correspondence for as long as that relationship needs. If your enquiry doesn't lead anywhere, we delete it within 12 months of our last contact. You can ask us to delete your message sooner at any time.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets one functional cookie — your light or dark theme preference — and collects no analytics. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing that needs a consent banner.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it's wrong, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To use any of these, just email info@meladian.co.uk — there's no charge, and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, so do get in touch with us before you do.

Changes to this notice

If we change how this site handles your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. This notice was last updated on 12 July 2026.
