Ian has spent nearly 30 years in IT — more than 25 of them in UK public-sector technology, most of that as a senior consultant inside one of the world's largest consultancies, working on business-critical systems for a major government department.
His edge is range: moving from a budget-holder's boardroom, to a whiteboard wireframe, to production .NET and Azure code without dropping the thread. He devised the modernisation method that unlocked £7m+ of successful delivery across seven programmes — in an account where, before that, no modernisation work had happened at all — and was running structured human-and-AI delivery nine months before "agentic software engineering" had a name.
